The concluding installment in the trilogy adapting the ’80s TV series brings Washington’s Robert McCall out of retirement to a tranquil Sicilian village. Here, he encounters a community threatened by a drug cartel under the leadership of Scarduzio, sparking a personal vendetta marked by intense violence and vengeance. It’s a delightful reunion to witness Washington and Fanning from “Man on Fire” teaming up as law enforcement agents to combat the gangsters. Washington delivers a stellar performance as the enigmatic assassin with surprising skills and inventive, graphic resolutions to conflicts. Directed with flair by Antoine Fuqua, who skillfully handled the series, it serves as a fitting conclusion (at least for now) to this action-packed saga.
