I found “Blue Beetle” to be the most basic teenage superhero origin story, and it didn’t leave a strong impression on me. The story is well-worn and lacks novelty, making it feel predictable and unexciting. The action sequences were bland, leaving me with a straight face throughout. The villain also failed to impress me. However, what I did appreciate about “Blue Beetle” was the family dynamic, which added depth to the narrative. The family itself was well-portrayed, and performances, particularly by Bruna Marquezine and Xolo Maridueña, were good. If the story had offered something more unique compared to typical teenage superhero origin tales, “Blue Beetle” could have stood out. The cinematography, editing, the Blue Beetle suit, and special effects were highlights. But the overall film suffers from a lack of a fresh storyline, making it just an okay movie. Unfortunately, the action was boring, the humor fell flat, and the villain was uninteresting. “Blue Beetle” is not a bad movie, but it is a basic teenage superhero origin story with okay performances and a predictable and unoriginal plot.
